I Bought this item 2 days ago for a birthday present for my son so only got to install it today 13th Aug 09. The outer Amazon packaging was in very good condition as normal, but inside the Zboard main package was damaged and torn.

On opening the Zboard box, inside was the base keyboard holder, wrist rest and 2 keysets, there were no instuctions on use or installation media. After a few attempts searching the internet I got the latest drivers for windows XP 32bit and also windows 7rc 64bit.

Following the directions of the software installation it recommends connecting the keyboard before software continues, after finishing installing the software it requested a reboot.

This is now when the problems started, for one I noticed that the base Zboard was slightly warped and didnt sit properly on the desk and rocked back and forth as I tried to type. I say tried but no keys were taking effect, after a few attempts of inserting and re-inserting the key set it would only work after applying pressure on the top right of the keyset where it connects to the pins of the base. Soon as I let go the keyboard would stop working and the green icon in the windows tray would turn red. I tried the 2nd keyset that came with the zboard and had exactly the same problem, everything worked fine until I released pressure from the top right of the keyset, and yes before anyone asks I did clamp the keyset over on the far right of the board.

For curiosity I tried on my own PC which i had windows 7 rc 64bit installed, installation went fine and recognised the Zboard and keysets fine bearing in mind im holding the keyset down in the corner, soon as I swapped the keyset and held it down the zboard monitor would bring up the program to edit and which game mod id like to run, soon as I let go this would disappear.

After an hour of perseverance I decided to repackage it for return, a nice idea for a keyboard but sadly needs better connections than just wire pins that dont connect without pressure.

I am sceptical on whether I recieved a used or damaged Zboard but knowing how good Amazon are supposed to be Im hoping this is not the case as this was bought directly from Amazon as a brand new keyboard and not a used item.

As always I write down the Serial numbers of items that need returning for replacement or refund, but as it is, it has put me off from having another Zboard, although my son still wants one.

As it is Im disappointed with this product and the condition it arrived in, and the amount I paid for the urgent delivery. Hopefully other people wont have the same experience.
